Betting on the Chicago Bears (+10)
Regular season record: 3-7
The Bears stopped a two-game skid with a 16-13 victory over the Carolina Panthers at home. The season is still a major disappointment overall so far for Chicago, but it could — and should — get better for them in Week 11, with quarterback Justin Fields expected to return after weeks of absence due to a hand injury.
Having Fields back will be an upgrade for the Bears, who weathered his absence by starting Tyler Bagent. The Bears’ defense also showed some more bite in the win over Carolina, in part because of the addition of Montez Sweat, who came over from the Washington Commanders via a trade. Also don’t sleep on running back D’Onta Foreman, who had 80 rushing yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in the Panthers game.
Betting on the Detroit Lions (-10)
Regular season record: 7-2
The Lions emerged out of their bye in Week 9 seemingly rusty on the defensive side of the field but still explosive on the offensive end, as they beat the Los Angeles Chargers in Inglewood for a 41-38 road win. That’s the second win in a row for Detroit and sixth over the team’s last seven outings.
The return of running back David Montgomery has made the Lions’ attack even more explosive, as he led Detroit in the Chargers game with 116 rushing yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. In comparison, rookie tailback Jahmyr Gibbs had 77 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. Chicago’s defense doesn’t allow a lot of rushing yards, but it might still not be good enough to slow down the pair of Montgomery and Gibbs. And we haven’t even mentioned Detroit’s passing offense yet. Jared Goff had 333 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions versus the Chargers for the Lions who entered Week 10 sixth in the NFL with 259.3 passing yards per contest.

It’s still so hard to trust the Bears to do anything consistent despite their win in Week 10. The Lions will take care of business in Week 11 to score a double-digit victory at home.
