The Bengals drew with the Atlanta Falcons, 13-13, on the road in Week 2. That means the Bengals will be entering Week 3 still seeking their first win in the 2023 NFL preseason. That being said, Cincinnati’s defense needs to be highlighted heading into Saturday’s game.
After giving up nearly 40 points in Week 1’s loss to the Green Bay Packers at home, the Bengals surrendered just a little over 10 points to Atlanta. So good were the Bengals on that end of the field in Week 2 that they crippled the Falcons’ first-teamers. That’s a strong message to send to Washington.
The Bengals are 3-1 against the spread in their last four games in the preseason.
Betting on the Washington Commanders (-4.5)
Preseason record: 2-0
Say what you want about these games being just in the preseason, but you got to love how the Commanders won last week over the Baltimore Ravens at home, 29-28. The Ravens had looked invincible in the preseason for the longest time, but Sam Howell and the Commanders ended Baltimore’s run.
Howell went 19/25 for 188 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions in the win in Week 2, while Jake Fromm reminded everyone that he’s still around with a solid finish to the game. Fromm could get most of the snaps among Washington quarterbacks this Saturday, and if so, he should have all the confidence he needs after passing got 91 yards, and a touchdown with zero turnovers on 10/16 completions against the Ravens.
The Commanders are 3-0 against the spread in their last three preseason games.
