Betting on the Cleveland Browns
The Browns were unable to maintain their late awakening in their quest for an AFC wild card, and a traumatic home loss to the Saints ultimately eliminated them from contention.
While everyone expected that having Deshaun Watson would be an asset down the stretch, the quarterback, who was suspended for the first 11 weeks, failed to warm up quickly and Cleveland paid for it on offense. Despite being fifth in rushing yards and third in rushing TDs scored, in their last two games they didn’t exceed 280 passing yards, and in the last three games they didn’t score more than 13 points.
The defense also roused late from a state of unresponsiveness, and they are 11th in terms of points allowed with 343. The Browns only allowed more than 17 points once in their previous five games, but they paid dearly for ranking among the teams who gave up the most rushing yards and touchdowns.
Betting on the Washington Commanders
Despite going three games without a win, the Commanders still have their destiny in their hands and will host the Browns and Cowboys to close the regular round with the mission of reaching the postseason for the second time in the last two years.
During the week, it was announced that Carson Wentz would return as the starting QB for a team that has a half-game lead in the third NFC wild card over the Seahawks, Lions and Packers. Any setback could mean elimination, and that’s why the Commanders need their defense to bounce back.
In the last four games, they have not scored more than 20 points; additionally, they have the sixth-worst average of yards gained per play in the league with 5.0, along with the second-lowest number of rushing touchdowns with only seven. This is why its defense, which ranks fifth in terms of fewest penalties with 76, has been in charge of keeping the games in its favor, especially with regard to order.
They also have the second-fewest first downs conceded with 260, seventh-fewest passing yards allowed, and their 10 rushing touchdowns scored have them as the seventh-best team in the category.
JefeBet Prediction
These two offenses have had a lot of trouble getting into the end zone over the past few weeks; meanwhile, their defenses are the ones that have stuck up for the team. Watson hasn’t lived up to expectations, and Wentz hasn’t started since Week 6. Last week, he came in as Taylor Heinicke’s backup with some success.
In a very difficult match to predict, we believe the Under is the safest decision.
Prediction: Under (BRO 17 – WAS 20).
