The Browns’ defense is for real. Following their loss to the Seattle Seahawks in which they allowed the game-winning touchdown, the Browns responded in a big way, crushing the hapless Arizona Cardinals in a 27-0 victory. Cleveland’s defense had seven sacks and two interceptions in that contest.
Granted that it was against a Cards team that started an unproven rookie quarterback, the Browns still can be regarded as a scary defensive team that the Ravens can’t take lightly. The Ravens appeared to solve Cleveland’s defense back in Week 4, but that was also a game the Browns did not have Deshaun Watson. With Watson healthy again, the Browns have their best QB starting for them again. On the season, the Browns are third in the league with just 17.4 points allowed per game and tops overall with an 11.25 percent defensive sack rate.

If you want to talk about defense, the Ravens should definitely be part of the conversation. The Ravens, who are coming off a 37-3 annihilation of the Seahawks at home in Week 9, are the owners of the best scoring defense in the league. They are surrendering just 13.8 points per game. Baltimore is also second in the NFL so far this season with only 262.6 total yards surrendered per contest.
But Baltimore isn’t just all about defense. The Ravens can score in bunches too. In fact, they are sixth in both scoring offense (26.6 PPG) and in total offense (369.0 total yards per contest). Lamar Jackson has the wheels and athleticism to escape Browns pass rushers, which is also why he had two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns in the first meeting with Cleveland.
