The Cardinals are still in a rut. After their stunning upset win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3, the Cards have gone 0-3 straight up. Making it worse for Arizona is the long-term absence of running back James Conner due to injury.
Missing arguably their best offensive weapon is a big blow to the Cardinals, but all hope shouldn’t be lost on them. Their defense may have a surprise waiting for Seattle, particularly up front. The Seahawks are dealing with a banged-up defensive line, which makes quarterback Geno Smith a bigger target for Arizona’s pass rush. In their Week 6 meeting with the Los Angeles Rams, the Cardinals recorded three sacks, albeit in a 26-9 road loss.
Betting on the Seattle Seahawks (-7.5)
Regular season record: 3-2
The Seahawks got tripped up in Week 6 by the Cincinnati Bengals on the road, as Smith and company suffered a 17-13 loss – their second of the season and first since Week 1’s defeat at the hands of the Rams. Smith went 27/41 for 323 passing yards with zero touchdowns and two interceptions while also getting sacked four times for a loss of 29 yards.
As mentioned earlier, Seattle’s pass protection isn’t looking ideal, but the Seahawks should still be able to exploit Arizona’s leaky defense. DK Metcalf only caught four of 10 targets in Week 6, but he could have a much more efficient performance on Sunday versus the Cards, who are just 29th in the league with a 70.85 percent opponents’ completion rate.
