Betting on the Los Angeles Chargers (-1)
Regular season record: 0-2
The Chargers remain winless. After getting pummeled in Week 1’s 36-34 loss to the Miami Dolphins at home, Los Angeles had its defense torched again in Week 2, as the Bolts lost to the Tennessee Titans on the road, 27-24, via overtime.
Defense is clearly a major issue at the moment for the Chargers, but if they can’t fix that right away in time for Week 3’s matchup against the Vikings, they can still rely on their offense to do the most of the heavy lifting. Los Angeles is sixth so far this season with 29.0 points per game and fourth with 387.5 total yards per game. They missed Austin Ekeler in the Titans game because of an ankle injury, but still compiled 342 total yards.
Betting on the Minnesota Vikings (+1)
Regular season record: 0-2
The Vikings suffered a crushing 34-28 loss on the road to the Philadelphia Eagles during a Thursday Night Football matchup in Week 2. Despite Kirk Cousins having yet another stellar performance under center, the Vikings failed to come away with a victory against the reigning NFC champs.
So far in the 2023 NFL season, Cousins has passed for 708 yards and six touchdowns with only an interception on 72.7 percent completion rate. With the kind of form Cousins is in, it’s not hard to imagine the Vikings’ offense lighting it up against the leaky defense of the Chargers, who are allowing 31.5 points per game and 438.5 total yards per contest, 30th and 32nd in the league, respectively.
El Jefe’s Prediction on Los Angeles Chargers vs Minnesota Vikings
This will be a high-scoring game that will end up with a Vikings win. Justin Jefferson will go off in this contest just like Tyreek Hill did in Week 1 versus the Chargers.
Prediction:
The Vikings win, 28-27.
