Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (-7)
Regular season record: 6-1
After a relatively shaky win in the first meeting with Denver in Week 6 at home, the Chiefs flexed their muscles and demolished the Los Angeles Chargers, also at Arrowhead Stadium, in Week 7. With that win, the Chiefs have extended their win streak to six games, with their Week 1 upset loss to the Detroit Lions still their only defeat so far this season.
Patrick Mahomes went 30/40 for 306 passing yards and a touchdown with an interception, while tight end Travis Kelce went full anti-hero to the Broncos’ defense with 124 receiving yards on nine receptions and nine targets. Kelce is almost certainly going to be a huge factor again for the Chiefs’ offense in Week 8. He is not slowing down, coming up with 179 receiving yards and a touchdown on 12/13 catches-targets in the Chargers game. Kansas City is sixth in the NFL with 25.4 points per game.
Betting on the Denver Broncos (+7)
Regular season record: 2-5
The Broncos ended a two-game losing skid and rebounded from their loss to the Chiefs with a hard-earned 19-17 win at home against the Green Bay Packers in Week 7. Russell Wilson passed for 194 yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions on 20/29 completions versus the Packers, while Denver’s defense also did an excellent job on its end of the field.
If the Broncos are to upset Kansas City, their defense will have to be in great form. They had some success on that end in the first meeting with the Chiefs, as they intercepted Mahomes once, sacked him twice, and held Kansas City to only 3.6 rushing yards per carry and just 4/13 on third downs. But of course, Wilson also has to be more efficient. He threw two picks and got sacked four times in the loss to Kansas City.

Coming off a win and playing at home with a defense that has gotten so much steadier since getting destroyed by the Miami Dolphins, the Broncos will bring the fight anew to the Chiefs. Kansas City wins, but the Broncos cover.
