Betting on the Indianapolis Colts (-2)
Regular season record: 4-5
The Colts entered Week 9 on the heels of a three-game losing skid. That streak is no more, as they defeated the Carolina Panthers on Sunday on the road to the tune of a 27-13 score. Indianapolis has its defense to thank for that win mostly, particularly cornerback Kenny Moore II, who had two interceptions taken to the house.
Moore should be a huge threat to the Patriots in Week 10, considering what he just did in the Panthers game and the fact that New England quarterback Mac Jones has been a turnover machine this season. Jones already has nine interceptions in 2023. The Patriots’ defense has also looked faulty a lot of times this season, and it is only 26th in the NFL with 25.3 points allowed per contest. That’s a good sign for Gardner Minshew and the Colts, who are seventh in the league with 25.8 points per contest.
Betting on the New England Patriots (+2)
Regular season record: 2-7
After a shocking upset win over the Buffalo Bills at home in Week 10, the Patriots have seemingly failed to sustain the momentum from that victory, as they have gone 0-2 straight up since. They lost to the Miami Dolphins in Week 8 (31-17) on the road and to the Washington Commanders (20-17) in Foxborough in Week 9.
Although wins have been hard to come by for the Pats, their upcoming game will be against a beatable Colts squad. New England could open up more chances for its ground attack in the Germany game versus the Colts, especially after running back Rhamondre Stevenson shined in Week 9, rushing nine times for 87 yards and a touchdown. The Colts’ ground defense isn’t sturdy, and it’s even just 31st in the league with 1.7 rushing yards allowed per game.
El Jefe’s Prediction on Indianapolis Colts vs New England Patriots
The Colts pounce on the error-prone Patriots, as they capitalize on New England turnovers and short-field opportunities to score crucial points.
Prediction:
The Colts win, 20-19.
