Betting on the Indianapolis Colts (+8)
Regular season record: 1-1
Will Anthony Richardson be able to play in Week 3? The rookie quarterback exited Week 2’s game against the Houston Texans on the road with a concussion. The Colts, however, won that game to the tune of a 31-20 score – a testament to the abilities of backup quarterback Gardner Minshew.
If Richardson gets ultimately ruled out against the Ravens, the Colts can turn again to Minshew, who was 19/23 for 171 passing yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions in the Texas game. Michael Pittman Jr. also continues to make an impact downfield. Another one to keep an eye out for the Ravens is Colts running back Zack Moss, who just had 88 rushing yards and a touchdown on 18 carries versus Houston.
Betting on the Baltimore Ravens (-8)
Regular season record: 2-0
The Ravens found a way to take down the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday on the road for a 27-24 win despite an injury-riddled roster. Baltimore played the Bengals minus six starters due to injuries, but that ultimately did not matter to the Ravens in large part because Lamar Jackson was on top of his game.
Jackson passed for 237 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions while also rushing 12 times for 54 yards. The return of tight end Mark Andrews after he missed Week 1 was also timely for the Ravens, who will have him as a fixture on offense as long as he’s healthy. Andrews proved he’s back to good form by registering 45 receiving yards and a touchdown on five catches and eight targets in the win over the Bengals.
El Jefe’s Prediction on Indianapolis Colts vs Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens will end up with a win in this matchup but not before a valiant effort from the Colts, who find some cracks in Baltimore’s banged-up lineup.
Prediction:
The Ravens win, 26-20.
