Regular season record: 2-1
The Commanders had their win streak to start the season snapped in Week 3 in a 37-3 beatdown at the hands of the Bills. Sam Howell was absolutely dominated by the Bills’ defense as only passed for 170 yards with zero touchdowns and four interceptions while getting sacked a total of nine times for a loss of 45 yards.
Howell had been playing well prior to meeting Buffalo, so this upcoming game against the Eagles will be a test of his resiliency. It is also important to know that it was the Commanders who snapped the Eagles’ eight-game win streak to start the season in 2022. After generating zero sacks in Week 3, the Commanders’ pass rush will hope to have a bigger impact versus the Eagles. On the season, the Commanders are still sixth in the league with a 9.62 percent defensive sack rate.
Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles (-8)
Regular season record: 3-0
The Eagles are on a roll. They collected their third straight win of the season last Monday when they took down the previously undefeated Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road, 25-11. Jalen Hurts was not feeling 100% in that game due to flu-like symptoms, but he still managed to pass for 277 yards and a touchdown (with two interceptions) on 23/37 completions.
It was also so convenient for the Eagles to have D’Andre Swift, who was near-unstoppable again, as the running back rushed for 130 yards on 16 carries.
Swift has rushed for 305 yards in just a span of two games, and he will be a big threat to Washington’s defense which is allowing 4.8 yards per carry to opponents this season, so far. Then there’s Philly’s stop unit as well which has the ability to do just as much damage to Washington as Buffalo did last week.
