Betting on the Washington Commanders (-2)
Regular season record: 3-3
The Commanders snapped a three-game skid and returned to .500 by beating the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday on the road, 24-16. Despite being fronted by a faulty offensive line, quarterback Sam Howell managed to pass for 151 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions on 14/23 completions, Howell has been showing promise under center for Washington’s offense which is just 15th in the league with 22.2 points per game but ninth with 2.5 touchdowns per contest.
Washington should be able to have some success against New York, which is among the worst defensive teams in the league. Washington enters Week 7 with a 3-0 record against the spread in games when they’re the road team.
Betting on the New York Giants (+2)
Regular season record: 1-5
The Giants are still in a rut. They saw their losing streak get stretched to four games after failing to score an upset win against the Buffalo Bills on the road last Sunday. Instead, the Giants suffered a 14-9 loss to Josh Allen and company. It should be noted that New York did not have Daniel Jones in that game with the quarterback dealing with a neck issue.
It is possible, however, that Jones returns to action in Week 7. If not, the Giants will have to turn to Tyrod Taylor again. If anything, the Giants’ defense looked better in Week 6, limiting the high-powered Bills to only 297 total yards while forcing two turnovers. Just like New York, the Commanders seem to have a leaky defense, one that is third-worst in the league in both scoring defense and total defense.
El Jefe’s Prediction on Washington Commanders vs New York Giants
This game will be decided in the fourth quarter, with the first three periods seeing both teams struggling to establish a rhythm on offense. Taking the Giants to win this game.
Prediction:
The Giants win, 21-17.
