Betting on the Miami Dolphins (TBA)
Regular season record: 6-2
The Dolphins are back in the win column after defeating the New England Patriots last Sunday, 31-17. That was Miami’s second win this season at the expense of Bill Belichick’s team, and that must feel good for the Dolphins, who successfully rebounded from their 31-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on the road in Week 7.
Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill combined for 233 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 15 receptions and 25 targets in the New England game, and they will look to expose the Chiefs’ secondary just like the Denver Broncos did on Sunday. The Dolphins certainly are well-equipped to do just that, considering they are No. 1 in the NFL with 34.3 points per game and also tops in the league with 300.0 passing yards per contest.
Betting on the Kansas City Chiefs (TBA)
Regular season record: 6-2
Believe it or not, Patrick Mahomes looked human in Week 8’s 24-9 Kansas City loss on the road to the Broncos. Mahomes went just 24/38 for 241 passing yards and zero touchdowns, while also getting picked twice and sacked three times. Those are no ideal numbers for Mahomes.
Still, Mahomes is widely considered the best quarterback in the game today. If there’s a quarterback who can go toe to toe with Miami’s offense, it’s Mahomes. But don’t sleep on the Chiefs’ defense. Even though Kansas City got upset by the Broncos, the Chiefs were able to record six sacks. Second-year defensive end George Karlaftis now has 4.5 sacks in his last three games.
El Jefe’s Prediction on Miami Dolphins vs Kansas City Chiefs
The Dolphins have always been about offense this season, but don’t forget that their defense just got a boost with the return of Jalen Ramsey. Miami’s defense makes a difference and helps the Fins get away with a win from Arrowhead Stadium.
Prediction:
The Dolphins win, 26-23.
