The Eagles were not going to be embarrassed for the second week in a row. After getting upset in a loss to the New York Jets in Week 6, Philadelphia walloped the Miami Dolphins at home in Week 7 for a 31-17 win. To hold the Dolphins to only that many points was a strong message to the rest of the league from the Eagles’ defense.
Miami is the league’s highest-scoring team but sputtered offensively versus the Eagles, who are seventh in the NFL with 290.3 total points per game. Going from facing the Dolphins to the Commanders should only make life easier for Philly’s defense. Washington has one of the least inspiring offenses in the league and had just scored seven points in Week 7.

Regular season record: 3-4
The Commanders are on the verge of losing control of their season — again. They won their first two games of the 2023 NFL regular season before plunging into a stretch that saw them win just once in five outings.
In Week 7, the Commanders failed to beat a team that scored just 14 points, as the New York Giants used Washington as a springboard back to the win column. As bad as it looks at the moment for Washington, the Commanders are a team that still has the potential to hurt opponents. It was not that long ago when they pushed the Eagles to the limit, just falling short in a 34-31 overtime loss on the road. Terry McLaurin had 86 receiving yards on just eight catches and eight targets in that game, while Sam Howell passed for 290 yards and a touchdown on 29/41 completions.
