Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles (-3.5)

Even though they failed to win the Super Bowl last season, the Eagles are easily one of the teams to watch out for in the coming 2023 NFL season. With Jalen Hurts directing the offense on the field, Philly knows it’s very much capable of beating any club that it crosses paths with.
Hurts played at an elite level in 2022, passing for 3,701 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions on a 66.5 percent completion rate, while rushing for 760 yards and 13 touchdowns. Running back Miles Sanders is no longer part of the Eagles, but the team replaced him with D’Andre Swift, who’s prone to injury but always has the potential to explode. What makes Philadelphia scarier is its defense which might even be better this season. That’s saying a lot, considering the Eagles were seventh a year ago with just 19.8 points allowed per game and No. 1 with just 292.8 total yards surrendered per contest.
Betting on the New England Patriots (+3.5)

The Patriots are entering Year 3 of the Mac Jones experience. Jones took a step back from his rookie season performance to his showing in 2022, but that can’t be just blamed solely on him. This time, the environment is believed to be much more conducive not just for Jones but for the entire offense as well.
For one, Matt Patricia is gone and has been replaced by Bill O’Brien, who will now be running the show on offense behind the curtain. Another reason for optimism is the arrival of Ezekiel Elliott in Foxborough. While he’s no longer the running back he used to be, Elliott can still be pretty effective as a backup to Rhamondre Stevenson. And again, O’Brien is now pulling the strings for the Pats’ offense that averaged 106.6 rushing yards per game in 2022. The Patriots can’t also be slept on defensively, especially since they used a first-round pick on cornerback Christian Gonzalez.
