Betting on the Atlanta Falcons (-1)
Regular season record: 4-3
Look who just grabbed the solo lead in the NFC South division. The Falcons just did that after beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7, 16-13. Atlanta survived that game despite Desmond Ridder committing three turnovers, all lost fumbles. Ball security is going to be a major focus for Atlanta heading into the matchup versus the Titans.
The Falcons, however, still managed to rack up 401 total yards versus Tampa Bay and that’s despite Bijan Robinson barely playing at all due to illness. Robinson should feel much better in Week 8, which could make Atlanta’s attack much more dangerous than it was in the Tampa Bay game.
Betting on the Tennessee Titans (+1)
Regular season record: 2-4
The Titans are well-rested. They are coming off a much-needed bye in Week 7 which they entered on the heels of a two-game losing skid. Tennessee lost to the Indianapolis Colts on the road in Week 5 (23-16) and to the Baltimore Ravens in London in Week 6 (24-16).
The Titans’ offense has been an issue for the team this season thus far, as they are just averaging 17.3 points per game and 283.5 total yards per contest – both ranked just 26th in the league overall, as of the end of Week 6. It’s not far-fetched, however, for the Titans to defeat a team like the Falcons, who have issues of their own. Keeping up offensively with the Falcons is not that hard of a task especially if Atlanta’s ball-security problems arise again.
