The Giants looked as if they were circling down the drain again when they found themselves by as many as 20 points in the first half of Week 2’s game against the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale. But Daniel Jones and company made sure to prevent another loss, as they roasted Arizona’s defense in the second half and escaped the desert with a 31-28 victory.
It’s still too early in the season to say, but that might be where the Giants truly defined their season. Jones passed for 321 yards and two touchdowns with an interception on 26/37 completions. That’s a great performance to have to boost his morale heading into a matchup against a tough San Francisco side this coming Thursday. However, the Giants could be missing running back Saquon Barkley, who tweaked his ankle late in the Arizona game.

The 49ers are 2-0 after taking care of business on the road in each of their first two games of the season. Now comes their debut at home for the 2023 NFL campaign versus the Giants.
The Niners have full confidence in their abilities on both ends of the field. In their 30-23 win against the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday, Christian McCaffrey rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, while Brock Purdy went 17/25 for 206 passing yards. Purdy was not able to toss a touchdown, but San Francisco’s ground attack could be the one that torches New York’s defense. The 49ers rushed 28 times for 159 yards and three touchdowns against the Rams, while the Giants surrendered 151 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries to the Cardinals.
