Betting on the New York Giants (+16)
Regular season record: 2-7
The Giants are not going to admit it, but their season is done. With two wins after nine weeks and with Daniel Jones out for the remainder of the 2023 NFL campaign plus backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor on injured reserve, there really isn’t much hope for New York to turn things around. That’s not to mention that their upcoming game on Sunday will be against the same team that crushed them 40-0 back in Week 1 at home.
Then again, the Giants are not completely out of great talents to make things happen on the field. They still have running back Saquon Barkley and wide receiver Darius Slayton. Barkley might get a ton of extra work in Week 10, with Jones out and only Tommy DeVito projected to start at QB. On the season, Barkley has 502 rushing yards. And for what it’s worth, the Giants have covered the spread in two of their last three games in Arlington.
Betting on the Dallas Cowboys (-16)
Regular season record: 5-3
After suffering a 28-23 road loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9, the Cowboys could not have asked for a better opponent to vent their frustrations on than the Giants. As mentioned earlier, Dallas destroyed the Giants in Week 1 and the Cowboys will have another crack at New York, which, somehow, is now seemingly just a shell of itself during the first week of the season.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys’ roster is pretty much intact. Dak Prescott is coming off a terrific performance in the loss to the Eagles, as he threw for 374 yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions on 29/44 completions. Then there’s the Cowboys’ destructive defense that could wreak havoc against the Giants, who just gave up eight sacks to the Raiders and seven in the first meeting with Dallas.
