Betting on the New York Jets (+6.5)
Regular season record: 4-5
The Jets are simply not a playoff team with Zach Wilson running the show from under center. However, he had some great throws that turned lots of heads in Week 10’s 16-12 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on the road. He even nearly pulled off a Hail Mary touchdown, but Tyler Conklin got in the way of what would have likely been a game-winning touchdown score for New York.
It shouldn’t also be forgotten that Wilson was the QB for the most part of the Jets’ 22-16 home win over the Bills, going 14/21 for 140 passing yards and a touchdown with an interception after getting the call to orchestrate the Jets’ offense following Aaron Rodgers’ brutal injury. The Jets are still showing some bite against the spread. In fact, they are 4-4-1 against the spread so far in the 2023 NFL season.
Betting on the Buffalo Bills (-6.5)
Regular season record: 5-5
What is wrong with the Bills? That is a question people are going to ask nonstop heading into Week 11, as Buffalo is now on a two-game skid following a 24-22 home loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 10. The Bills have won just once in their last three games and twice in their last six.
Josh Allen continues to deal with his turnover issues, having thrown two more interceptions in the loss to the Broncos. In the first meeting with the Jets, Allen got picked off three times and sacked five times for a loss of 19 yards. All that being said, the Bills certainly still trust Allen to deliver. At the end of the day, he’s still the better quarterback by a mile than Wilson. The Jets’ defense is a big threat, but the Bills’ stop unit is good enough to rattle the Wilson-led New York attack that is putting up just 16.0 points per game.
El Jefe’s Prediction on New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills
Allen gets it together at last and leads the Bills to a dominant win over the Jets. Allen throws for at least two touchdowns and rushes for another, while Buffalo’s defense forces no fewer than three turnovers.
Prediction:
The Bills win, 28-16.
