Jets vs Giants Predictions, Picks, Odds Oct 29 2023

The Jets will hit the field again after a much-deserved bye in Week 7. Before taking a break, the Jets won back-to-back games over the Denver Broncos (31-21) on the road in Week 5 and against the Philadelphia Eagles at home in Week 6 (20-14).

That win against the reigning NFC champions was a huge one for the Jets’ record — and morale. Zach Wilson is still not a great quarterback and he’ll likely never be, but he’s done better than expected of late as a duct-tape solution under center for New York, which looks to be carried anew by its defense. On the season, the Jets are allowing only 19.8 points per game and held powerhouses Eagles and Buffalo Bills to just a combined 30 points.

The Giants finally showed some signs of life. They were circling down the drain heading into Week 7’s contest against the Washington Commanders, but the Giants managed to snap out of a four-game losing skid by beating their NFC East rivals at home, 14-7.

Tyrod Taylor led the Giants’ offense with 279 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on 18/29 completions, while tight end Darren Waller broke out at last with 98 receiving yards and a touchdown on seven carries. There’s a chance that Daniel Jones will return to action in Week 8 after missing games with a neck issue. Either way, it was such a big plus for the Giants’ offense to finally see Waller produce., They can only hope he can sustain that and be a factor against the Jets.

El Jefe’s Prediction on New York Jets vs New York Giants

It’s back to their losing ways for the Giants in Week 8, as the Jets’ defense makes it hard for New York to get going offensively. New York’s offensive line remains a mess and the Jets will be the next team to expose it.

Prediction:

The Jets win, 19-17.
