Just when they seemed to be on their way to a great comeback after three consecutive victories, the Las Vegas Raiders went back to their old ways and lost a game they had practically in the bag against the Rams.
Last week’s 16-17 loss at Los Angeles on the final offensive series of the game sealed the hopes of a Raiders team that has thrown away leads throughout the NFL campaign.
And while there remains some hope in having to face the New England Patriots this Sunday,a team who currently holds the last wild card in the AFC, in the last two weeks of the regular round Las Vegas will have to face two of the best teams in the league: the 49ers and the Chiefs.
It won’t be simple against the Patriots, either. The Raiders have one of the best defenses in the league under Bill Belichick; however, although the Raiders’ offense was on the upswing, they were constrained by a strong Rams defense.
Overall, the Raiders share the fourth-highest average yards per play with 5.9 and rank 11th in points scored with 308. A clear example of this team’s lack of ability to score, though, is that they are third in average yards per rush with 5.1, but they have only 11 rushing touchdowns and they are the fourth-worst team in the red zone, scoring on just 44-7% of their trips.
The defensive side has improved thanks to the good work of Maxx Crosby, as shown by the fact that in three of their last four games, Las Vegas has held their opponents to 20 points or fewer. Given that the Patriots’ offense is among the weakest in the league, this situation might persist.
Las Vegas Raiders Odds Week 15 2022 NFL
Moneyline (-115 from BetMGM)
Despite their poor record, the Raiders have recently performed well, and on Sunday at home, they will continue that trend.
Because of this, and despite the Patriots’ 4-3 road record, they are slightly favorites in this game according to the bookmakers.
Spread(-1.0 from BetMGM)
The Spread line for this match is the main example of how evenly matched these two teams are projected to be.
Some data from the last meetings between the two also show how close they are: the favorite has a 6-1-1 record against the Spread in the last eight games, in the same line the Patriots have a 5-1 record in the last six clashes, while the visiting team plays for 4-1 in the last five meetings.
Over/Under (44.5 from BetMGM)
This Sunday’s matchup between these two teams will not be much different from their previous encounters in terms of total points scored, especially given the intermediate point line.
Because of this, we can examine more detailed statistics, such as the fact that New England has gone Under four times in their previous four games versus AFC opponents and five times overall in their last games.
Moving on to Las Vegas, their last four December games all ended in the Under; beware, though: the Over is the match’s betting favorite.

Las Vegas Raiders Future Odds After the Week 154
Over/Under wins in the season: Over 6.5(-154 from BetMGM) / Under 6.5 (+125 from BetMGM)
The Raiders’ slight improvement has led Las Vegas bookmakers to believe the team can win at least seven games this campaign.
In order to do so, it is important that they come out on top in their final road game, which will be next week when they visit the Steelers.
As far as home games are concerned, this week’s matchup against the Patriots is the most affordable, as they close the year hosting the 49ers and Chiefs. In this way, it could be said that if Las Vegas fails to defeat New England, its seven-win campaign is a long way off.
Raiders win the AFC West: N/A.
Last week the Raiders were officially out of contention for the AFC West.
Raiders win AFC Conference (+9900 from BetMGM)
If the Raiders are hoping for a miracle to advance to the postseason, winning the AFC is almost impossible considering they would have to overcome the Chargers and Chiefs, or even a much tougher obstacle like the Bills.
Raiders win Super Bowl (+9900 from BetMGM)
Given how extraordinary it is to see the Raiders in the postseason, it would be unbelievable if they won their first Super Bowl since 1983. Taking into account the injuries and the team’s inconsistency, the likelihood of this happening is almost (+10000) in Las Vegas. There are many teams above them, and while they have the what it takes to at least fight one more week, reaching the final is too much to ask.
