The Los Angeles Rams have little to look forward to in this final stretch of the season other than to close out as decently as possible a campaign to forget as defending NFL champions.
At the expense of a miracle to reach the postseason, the Rams are coming off a six-game losing streak against the Raiders and in Week 15 action, with a 4-9 record, they must visit the difficult Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers.
For this purpose, they will rely on rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield, who impressed in his debut against Las Vegas despite having only one week to get used to the group. Due to Matthew Stafford’s injury, Los Angeles took advantage of the Panthers’ releasing him, hoping in this way to end the regular season strong.
Mayfield completed 22 of 35 passes for 230 yards and a touchdown pass on the final offensive series of the game to turn the game around. This was undoubtedly a performance that bodes well for the Rams to forget the dismal performance of the offense throughout the season and which is the main factor for which they share the bottom of the NFC West.
It’s important to keep in mind that they, along with the Texans, are lowest in the league in terms of average yards gained per play (4.7) and have gained the fewest total yards (3,679). The Rams haven’t worked well this year, either through passes or on the ground, as they’ve had 13 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions through the air and the second-worst yards per rush average (3.7).
The club began out strong defensively, but as the losses piled up, they were unable to stay up, especially when it came to stopping the passing game. Opponents have only scored eight times, and the Rams have given up the fifth-fewest total yards (1,325) on the ground. Additionally, they allow only 17 touchdowns in 41 attempts, which is a 41.5% rate, making them the second-best defense in the red zone. They also have the fifth-fewest penalty yards.

In their last four visits to Green Bay, including the NFC Championship Game in January 2021, the Rams have failed to come out on top in the engagement and their last win in this venue dates back to the 2006 campaign.

Despite the fact that the Packers are not the same strong squad as in the previous season, we have already mentioned that the Rams struggle against Green Bay, even if the betting odds for this game imply a difference of more than one score.
In the last four clashes at Wisconsin, the Los Angeles team has a 0-4 record against the spread and 0-8 against the same condition in the last eight games overall against the Packers. Moreover, the favorite has a 10-2 record against the spread in the last 12 meetings.

The points line for this game, although low on paper, looks difficult to beat considering the cold environment in which both teams will have to play next Monday.
Aaron Rodgers and company are used to playing in these conditions, but can their defense have a good game against a Rams’ offense that will likely resort to passes? Will Green Bay be able to run with the ball against a good Los Angeles ground defense?
This is undoubtedly a clash that generates a lot of doubts due to the inconsistency of both teams.
