The Panthers remain a one-win team this season, as they lost to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9, 27-13. Carolina entered that game coming off a 15-13 victory over the Houston Texans in Week 8 but lost its momentum right away with that loss to Indianapolis.
However, there is still reason to believe that Carolina will be able to take care of business in Week 10, particularly because its next opponent is also having an awful campaign. The Bears’ defense offers hope for Bryce Young and the Panthers, as Chicago is just 28th in the league so far this season with 26.9 points allowed per contest.
Betting on the Chicago Bears (-3)
Regular season record: 2-7
The big question – again – for the Bears is whether Justin Fields will finally be able to return to action. Fields has missed multiple games due to a thumb injury, and if he gets ruled out again for Thursday’s matchup versus the Panthers, Chicago will likely give Tyson Bagent another shot to start under center.
Bagent had an up-and-down start in Chicago’s 24-17 road loss to the New Orleans Saints last Sunday, passing for 220 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions on 18/30 completions. Either way, the Bears’ offense can shine against Carolina’s stop unit which is seemingly worse than Chicago’s’ the Panthers are second-worst in the NFL with 28.3 points allowed per contest and last with 3.5 touchdowns surrendered per game.
