The Raiders are entering a new era, as they are about to play their first season since parting ways with quarterback Derek Carr. However, the Raiders are filling the role vacated by Carr by an experienced signal-caller in Jimmy Garoppolo, who has some great weapons around him. Of course, that includes wide receiver Davante Adams, arguably still the best player in his position today.
Adams led the Raiders in 2022 with 1,516 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. The scary part for Raiders opponents is that he could actually be better this year with Jimmy G taking over the QB1 role in Sin City. Josh Jacobs is also still in the fold of Las Vegas a season after leading the entire NFL with 1,653 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns through 17 games.

Like Las Vegas, the Broncos are also introducing a new key face this season, with Super Bowl-winning head coach Sean Payton now leading the team. Denver was a disaster in 2022, but the arrival of Payton brings hope to the team that has no way but up after going just 5-12 last season. Running back Javonte Williams is expected to be on the field in Week 1’s showdown against the Broncos after a devastating season-ending injury in 2022.
In his rookie season in 2021, he had 903 rushing yards with four touchdowns in 17 games. There could be more on his plate in Week 1 if wide receiver Jerry Jeudy can’t give it a go. Jeudy is currently viewed as questionable for the Raiders game due to a hamstring issue. That Jeudy was not placed on the injured reserve at the deadline is a good sign of his early-season availability.
