Regular season record: 1-2
The Rams are on a slump. They started the season the right way, beating the Seattle Seahawks on the road, 30-13, but have lost back-to-back games to the San Francisco 49ers at home (30-23) in Week 2 and to the Cincinnati Bengals in Ohio (19-16) in Week 3. Matthew Stafford looked like the past-his-prime QB that he is now, as he went 18/33 for 269 passing yards and a touchdown with two interceptions. He also got sacked six times for a loss of 48 yards.
The Rams are not getting Cooper Kupp back for at least one more week, so Stafford will have to continue leaning on the likes of Puka Nacua, Tutu Atwell, and Tyler Higbee for yards downfield. So far this season, the Rams are averaging 23.0 points and 368.0 total yards per game, 15th and ninth in the NFL, respectively.
Betting on the Indianapolis Colts (-1.5)
Regular season record: 2-1
The Colts have been a pleasant surprise this season. They lost their season opener (31-21) at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars but have gone 2-0 since, as they scored wins over the Houston Texans (31-20) and the Baltimore Ravens (22-19 via OT) in Weeks 2 and 3, respectively.
Rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson missed the Ravens game with a concussion, but backup Gardner Minshew was able to be steady enough to help steer the Colts to a win. Minnesota had 227 passing yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions on 27/44 completions. Running back Zack Moss blasted the Ravens for 122 rushing yards on 30 carries. Moss has shown that he can be relied upon while the Jonathan Taylor saga continues. The opportunistic Colts defense could punish Stafford and the Rams, as Indianapolis is seventh in the NFL with 1.7 takeaways per contest.
