Betting on the New Orleans Saints
The Saints are miraculously still alive but need to beat the Eagles and Panthers, and for the Buccaneers to lose their last two games, in order to clinch the NFC South.
The issue with New Orleans is that their offense is a huge headache because of their high number of turnovers, and they haven’t scored more than 21 points in the last four weeks. The Saints are fourth in the league in lost fumbles with 23, and while averaging 5.7 yards gained per play, the eighth-highest mark in the league, they haven’t accomplished much.
On the defensive side, things are much better and if only their offense had been a little more productive, their situation would be different. In the last eight games, the Saints have allowed more than 20 points only once and concede the fifth-lowest yards per play average at 5.0. Additionally, the 2,856 passing yards allowed are the second lowest in the league, and they have scored just 16 passing TDs.
Betting on the Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles need just one win in their last two games to secure the NFC East title and the best record in the National Conference.
The defeat in Dallas just put off a celebration in front of their supporters this weekend that seemed to be coming anyway. Jalen Hurts’ status as their starting quarterback is in doubt, but Philadelphia still proved against the Cowboys that they are capable of winning some games without him.
The Eagles are the club with the most points (445) and rushing touchdowns (31), and they also work well on defense, beyond the 40 points conceded against Dallas. Both the average number of yards allowed per play (4.8) and the overall number of passing yards (2,718) are the lowest in the NFL. They also have 61 sacks, first in the league, and 26 ball interceptions, which ranks second in the league.
JefeBet Prediction
The Eagles’ offense is a juggernaut and lead the league in points by scoring more than 30 points in four of their last five games, a performance that could drop off a bit in the face of a good Saints defense, but they will certainly not stop scoring their fair share of touchdowns.
New Orleans should not score as many touchdowns unless they don’t lose fumbles against one of the defenses with the most losing forces. That said, five of the last six games between the two franchises in Philadelphia have ended in the Over.
Prediction: Over (NO 20 – PHI 27).
