Betting on the Seattle Seahawks (-1.5)
Regular season record: 2-1
After stumbling right out of the gate this season in a 30-13 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1, the Seahawks have gotten it together to win two games in a row heading into Week 4’s meeting with the Giants. Seattle beat the Detroit Lions in Week 2 (37-31) and then the Carolina Panthers at home in Week 3 (37-27).
Clearly, these Seahawks can score a ton of points, and Geno Smith and company could continue their high-scoring ways in Week 4 opposite New York’s leaky defense. The Giants are third-worst in the league entering Week 4 with 32.7 points allowed per game. Conversely, the Seahawks are fourth overall with 29.0 points per outing.
Betting on the New York Giants (+1.5)
Regular season record: 1-2
The Giants won’t admit it, but they’re getting desperate. And their desperation could eventually lead to an appearance in Week 4’s game against the Seahawks by Saquon Barkley. The running back is still hurting with an ankle injury but has logged in practices this week, albeit limited – a sign that he will be forced to give it a go on Monday.
The Giants, who are coming off a 30-12 road loss to the San Francisco 49ers, can also look forward to having success offensively versus Seattle’s defense. The Seahawks are not much better defensively than New York, at least from a scoring standpoint, as Seattle is 29th in the league with 29.3 points allowed per game. Plus, the Seahawks have plenty of injuries on defense, leaving it very vulnerable opposite New York.
El Jefe’s Prediction on Seattle Seahawks vs New York Giants
Again, the Giants are desperate. This is a game they need to win. Look for Daniel Jones to come up huge on Monday.
Prediction:
The Giants win, 29-26.
