Betting on the Houston Texans (+2)
Regular season record: 2-2
It appears that CJ Stroud is starting to get a good flow in the pros. Stroud passed for 306 yards and two touchdowns while avoiding throwing a pick and going 16/30 in the Texans’ 30-6 last week over the Pittsburgh Steelers at home. While he had plenty of incompletions, Stroud is clearly playing much better this season than the quarterback drafted before him this year, Bryce Young of the Carolina Panthers.
The Texans are now on a two-game win streak and hit the road with a 4-1 record against the spread in their last five games in enemy territory. With a seemingly underrated receiving corps including the likes of Nico Collins, Tank Dell, and Robert Woods, Stroud is ready to put up a strong performance again this coming weekend.
Betting on the Atlanta Falcons (-2)
Regular season record: 2-2
The Falcons are fresh off a trip across the pond. They lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London in Week 4 to the tune of a 23-7 score. Atlanta’s offense is on a slump, as it has produced just a total of 13 points in the team’s last two outings.
Desmond Ridder passed for only 191 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions on 19/31 completions in the Jaguars game. He was also sacked four times for a loss of 31 yards. That being said, Atlanta’s attack can’t still be underestimated because it still features rookie running back Bijan Robinson, who rushed 14 times for 105 yards in London. Atlanta also has a decent defense that is fifth in the league with just 4.7 yards allowed per play.
El Jefe’s Prediction on Houston Texans vs Atlanta Falcons
With the Falcons back home, Robinson produces an even better performance than the one he had across the pond. He leads Atlanta to a win and cover.
Prediction:
The Falcons win, 23-20.
