Betting on the Tennessee Titans (+2.5)
Regular season record: -34
The future might be now for the Titans amid the explosive NFL debut of ro0kie Will Levis. Making the first appearance of his NFL career, Levis did not waste time to inspire under center, passing for 238 yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions on 19/29 completions in a 28-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons at home in Week 8.
Expect Levis to continue starting for the Titans, who must also be so hyped about seeing wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins have great chemistry right away with Levis, as he came away with 128 receiving yards and three touchdowns on four receptions and six targets. Levis and the Titans’ attack will next test the Steelers’ leaky air defense that has been allowing 241.2 passing yards per game.
Betting on the Pittsburgh Steelers (-2.5)
Regular season record: 4-3
The Steelers failed to keep their win streak alive in Week 8, as they lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars at home, 20-10. Pittsburgh is also now uncertain whether Kenny Pickett will get to suit up and play this coming Thursday after the quarterback suffered a rib injury that forced him to exit the Jaguars game.
Playing on a short week, the Steelers might host the Titans with Mitchell Trubisky as their starter. Trubisky gave the Steelers some spark in the Jags game, as he led the lone touchdown-scoring drive of his team in Week 8, though, he also threw a couple of interceptions. That said, there is hope for Trubisky versus the Titans’ defense which is just 22nd in the league with 237.0 passing yards allowed.
El Jefe’s Prediction on Tennessee Titans vs Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh’s defense isn’t elite this season, but it’s still got TJ Watt, who could provide a nightmarish setting for Levis, who had an excellent Week 8 but is still largely unproven. Taking the Steelers to win.
Prediction:
The Steelers win, 24-20.
