For the Super Bowl LVI, the Los Angeles Rams face the Cincinnati Bengals as betting favorites, a situation that is understandable if we take into account the wide range of stars that the Los Angeles Rams have for this incredible game. If you want to know a little more about them, here is a list of five of the team’s most important players to keep an eye on next Sunday.
5. Odell Beckham Jr.
Beckham Jr. seems to be back and that’s great news for the Rams. Since his arrival in Los Angeles, the receiver has returned to his pre-CSU injury shape and has made a good connection with Matthew Stafford.
In the postseason, he has been a crucial part of the NFC champions’ offense, and he can be a super important outlet for the quarterback when Cooper Kupp is under double coverage, as he did in the Championship Game against the 49ers, where he totaled nine receptions and 113 yards.
4. Matthew Stafford
It’s rare to see a quarterback outside of a team’s top 3, but there are so many interesting and important names on the Rams roster that Stafford, despite being a great talent, is not in the top 3.
In his first year with the Rams, the quarterback proved his detractors wrong, and if he had had a better team in Detroit, making it to a Super Bowl would have been possible.
Stafford was one of the best QBs in the NFL this season, and in the postseason he has not been a liability, responding in the important moments and bringing out his great throwing skills.
3. Jalen Ramsey
The league’s best cornerback will be challenged to play the best game of his career against the Bengals’ speedy and skilled receivers. That is, if he is willing to help his team win the long-awaited championship ring.
Ramsey has played at his best all the campaign, and the Rams are confident that he can take over for Ja’Marr Chase or Tee Higgins on Sunday, as it is unclear what Sean McVay’s plan will be for his star cornerback; whether he will look for personal coverage or whether he would prefer to give more responsibility to the depth guys.
What is certain is that the tools to stop them are present, and Ramsey will surely delight us with another great defensive show in the open field.
2. Cooper Kupp
The Rams’ offensive hopes have nothing to do with Stafford, but with what Kupp and his talented hands can do against the Bengals’ remarkable defense.
The receiver, and the season’s leader in receptions, air yards and touchdowns, has proven in the postseason that he has the ability to pick apart the most talented defenses in the circuit because he is currently the most complete wide receiver in the NFL, and because he is the number one candidate to win Offensive Player of the Year.
Kupp is not only the best running receiver, but he also has the ability to get off his receiver shadow at the right time. He also led the league in yards gained after the catch.
1. Aaron Donald
Donald is not only the best defensive player in the entire NFL, Donald is the best player in the NFL.
Every time the tackle is on the gridiron, opposing defenses and quarterbacks tremble. No quarterback is immune to his power, and his six hits in the postseason reinforce that.
Donald is not only able to catch opposing QBs at will, but he also has the ability to read runs and solidly slow down speedy running backs. All that is something to keep in mind on Sunday against a Cincinnati offensive line that has many weaknesses, especially on the right side, the defensive back’s favorite.
