Favorites

Max Homa (Odds +1400)

2022 Fortinet Championship Predictions, Odds and Betting Previews

Homa is the reigning champion of this competition: he won this trophy in the 2021/22 season, along with the Wells Fargo Championship, in what has been the best season of his career thus far. In this way, he will try to get off to a good start in 2022/23.

He also finished fifth in the difficult 2022 Tour Championship at the end of August, and if he can keep up the pace heading into this tournament, he will almost certainly have what it takes to win.

Hideki Matsuyama (Odds +1400)

2022 Fortinet Championship Predictions, Odds and Betting Previews

Hideki Matsuyama had a 2021/22 season full of ups and downs due to injuries and bad results, but he showed his best golf precisely at the beginning of the season with a victory in the Zozo Championship and the Sony Open.

Despite his inconsistency, his talent is undeniable: he made the cut in all four majors the previous golf season. If he is at his peak, he should have no trouble competing for the title in this 2022 Fortinet Championship.

Corey Conners (Odds +1600)

Corey Conners’ only PGA Tour win came in the 2018/19 season at the Valero Texas Open. Despite that, the Canadian has long been one of the most consistent golfers on the circuit, and it wouldn’t be unreasonable to take him into consideration given he’ll be facing lesser-known opponents in the world of golf.

Conners missed the cut just twice since the start of March, with his most notable performances since then being a sixth-place finish at the Masters and a fifth-place finish at the BMW Championship in the recent FedEx Cup playoffs.

Sleeper Picks

Cameron Davis (Odds +2800)

Cam Davis’ last trophy occurred at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in the 2020/21 season, so it’s been quite some time since then. His best stint in the 2021/22 PGA Tour season came in the second half of the season, with a sixth-place finish at the Barracuda Championship and a seventh-place finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Davis has experience in this tournament, and his ability to hit off the tee could pose a danger to the favorites.

Denny McCarthy (Odds +5000)

Denny McCarthy struggled to get his engines going last season on the PGA Tour, but managed to finish with good enough results to climb from #145 to #78 in the world golf rankings.

June was his best month, with a fifth place finish at the Memorial Tournament, a seventh place finish at the RBC Canadian Open and a sixth place finish at the Travelers Championship, and a #20 and #28 in the first two FedEx Cup tournaments before top opponents prove he could be a contender.

Dark Horse

Gary Woodland (Odds +5500)

2022 Fortinet Championship Predictions, Odds and Betting Previews

Gary Woodland went on to win a major such as the US Open in 2019; however, he has since failed to make it among the big names on the PGA Tour.

However, his talent has been demonstrated, as he finished fifth in both the Honda Classic and the Arnold Palmer Invitational in the 2021/22 season. In this way, he will want to get this new season off to a good start.
