Betting on the Memphis Grizzlies

The Grizzlies got crushed in Game 3 in Hollywood, losing to the Lakers to the tune of a 111-101 score. An absolutely brutal start to that game doomed Memphis, but the Grizzlies can still feel good about what they saw from Ja Morant. Returning from a one-game absence, Morant exploded for 45 points on 13/26 shooting from the field with six 3-pointers and a 13/14 line from the charity stripe.
In two games in the series, Morant has averaged 31.5 points on an incredible 52.5 percent shooting from the floor. Had the Grizzlies put up even just a slightly better start to Game 3, they probably would have successfully pulled off a comeback. It’s also fair to expect that Jaren Jackson Jr. will manage his fouls more efficiently in Game 4 after getting slowed down by early foul trouble last Saturday.

When you come at The King, you best not miss. That’s a lesson learned for the Grizzlies, especially for Dillon Brooks, who trolled LeBron James so hard after Game 2 that the Lakers responded with a savage reply in the form of their double-digit win last Saturday.
The Lakers buried Memphis by 26 points by the end of the first quarter and never looked back. James finished with 25 points, while Anthony Davis went off for 31 points and 17 rebounds. So far in the playoffs, the Lakers are averaging 110.7 points on 46.8 percent shooting from the field. D’Angelo Russell is still trying to find his form after shooting just 5/14 for 17 points in Game 3, but he should be due for an explosion soon, which could come as soon as this Monday at home.
