The NFL appears to have implemented a new marketing scheme for this campaign by revealing the NFL Schedule for the 2022 season in dribs and drabs.
On Monday, several Monday Night Football games were unveiled, and it was indicated that the full regular season schedule would be announced this Thursday. However, this Tuesday surprised many after one of the traditional Christmas Day commitments was announced too.
In what is usually a triple day of the NFL Calendar, the league announced through its social networks that one of the duels that day will be between the Denver Broncos and the reigning champions, the Los Angeles Rams.
The game, which corresponds to Week 16 action, will be played at 4:30 p.m. ET at SoFi Stadium, home of the Rams, and will be under the rights of CBS with Nickelodeon.
The NFL is expected to reveal the rest of the schedule, including the other two clashes of the Christmas tripleheader on Thursday at 8:00 pm ET, as previously mentioned.
Russell Wilson and Matthew Stafford on NFL Schedule Prime-time
Usually in the NFL Schedule there can be no shortage of interesting duels on special days within the league, so it is not surprising that this game, between two favorite teams for 2022, is scheduled for Christmas Day. That is, indeed, a great gift for all sports fans.
As hosts, we will have the reigning champions, the Rams, who will surely be in several special games this season not only because of their title won last year, but also because they have a squad that aims to repeat that triumph.
At the helm of their offense will be Matthew Stafford, a quarterback who in his first year in Los Angeles dazzled as he never did in Detroit, and who will be under a lot of pressure to repeat his championship.
On the Broncos’ side, the morbidity will be in Russell Wilson’s quick return to a city he knows quite well. The Denver organization’s quarterback played his first 10 years in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks, the Rams’ NFC West Division rival, from where he was traded in the preseason.
The Broncos added several interesting pieces for the 2022 campaign and despite being in the toughest division in the entire league, the AFC West, they have the team to compete.
