Sadio Mane Officially Becomes a Bayern Munich Player

Sadio Mané left Liverpool after six years and will now play in the German Bundesliga.

The arrival of the Senegalese striker, Sadio Manéto Bayern Munich, was made official on Wednesday, June 22nd.For several months, his name had been making waves in the sports media, with reports claiming that he would not be returning to Liverpool and would instead join the German team.

It has been reported that Bayern paid 32 million euros to acquire the services of the 30-year-old, who has been one of the best elements of the Reds’ attack in recent years.

According to Fabrizio Romano of The Guardian, the €32 million is guaranteed, but there is an additional €9 million set aside for bonuses, for a total of €41 million.

The Teutonic club announced the player’s arrival on social media with a welcome video in which the player appears signing his contract, posing in Munich, and showing off his new team’s shirt. The year his contract with the German club expires is printed on the back of the jersey: 2025, indicating that he will remain in the Bundesliga for three seasons.

During the presentation, Sadio Mané was happy and spoke about why he decided to join Bayern:

My agent told me that there were also inquiries from other clubs, but for me, the feeling was from the beginning when Bayern presented me with their plan.

He used the moment to praise his new team, saying that it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Mané had one year left on his contract with Liverpool, but before the end of the season he was already determined to leave the club and had asked to leave before the Champions League final against Real Madrid.

The English club did not accept at first, and rejected the first offers made by the German side. However, as they added a striker like Uruguay’s Darwin Núñez, the board agreed to let the Senegal player go.

Bayern Munich will be Sadio Mané’s fourth team

Mané began his career with Metz in France, but in the 2012-13 season he emigrated to Austria to play for Red Bull Salzburg. His good performances in the Austrian league put him on the radar of Southampton, a team he joined in 2014 and with which he only played for two seasons.

In 2016, he arrived at Liverpool, a team with which he played 269 games, recorded 120 goals and 38 assists. So far, this has been the most successful period in his professional career, as he won the Premier League, EFL Cup, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.
