According to The Athletic’s journalist Katherine Terrell, the Miami Dolphins signed Terron Armstead to a five-year, $87.5 million contract.
The original deal between the South Florida team and the star offensive tackle indicates that the base figure is $75 million, but it could increase considerably due to certain incentives the player may receive during the 2022-23 NFL season. In addition, $43.3 million dollars are guaranteed.
Consequently, the Dolphins reinforce their offensive line with a player who, despite his constant physical problems during his 9-year career with the New Orleans Saints, has established himself as one of the best in his position with three consecutive Pro Bowl appointments (2018-2020).
If Armstead fully recovers from his knee problem, surely he will to bring a lot of positives in the upcoming NFL season.
The signing of Armstead joins that of Connor Williams, as brand new players of a Miami team that just finished in third place in the East Division of the AFC with a record of 9 wins and 8 losses.
Terron Armstead NFL Numbers
Terron Armstead was taken by the Saints in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft after joining the University of Arkansas.
The 30-year-old has a total of 97 games in the NFL, and there is concern that he has never been able to play every game in a regular season. In addition, in the last two years he could only record 4 catches.
The Dolphins remain very active in the NFL offseason with interesting moves looking to improve weak points in a franchise that currently has young quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as the figure that represents the present and future.
