The Conmebol World Cup Qualifiers will conclude this Tuesday, March 29 with five matches that will be played at the same time, 16:30 Pacific time.

While the four direct tickets delivered by the South American confederation (Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador and Uruguay) are already reserved, there are three teams that are still fighting for the repechage that would face them against the rival of the Asian confederation, in what would be the last opportunity to attend the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Ecuador vs Argentina

Despite having lost by a score of 3-1 to Paraguay in the last date, Ecuador is already in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

After playing 17 matches, the Ecuadorian team led by Gustavo Alfaro registered 25 units, the result of seven wins, four draws and six losses. At the moment, they are in third place in the Conmebol World Cup Qualifiers, and a victory would help them maintain that position. However, in case the result is different, they will have to wait for the score between Chile and Uruguay to know if they will drop a position or if they will keep it.

For its part, Lionel Messi’s Argentina, also already qualified, will look to continue its streak of matches without losing since at the moment it has 30 games without defeats and is close to the mark of the era of Alfio Basile who got 31 in the process heading to the United States 1994. During the World Cup Qualifiers Conmebol Argentina did not lose any of the 16 matches (it has one pending against Brazil), records 11 wins and five draws and a total of 38 points, which allows them to be the second place in the classification.

Bolivia vs Brazil

Bolivia has nothing at stake, they have lost their last three knockout matches and occupy the ninth position with only 15 points, being the second team with the most defeats in the classification process (won 4, drew 3, lost 10). Perhaps, the only thing left to do would be to take advantage of the height of La Paz to snatch the undefeated from the “Canarinha”.

Brazil is the leader of the Conmebol World Cup Qualifiers with 42 points, after winning 13 matches and drawing 3 in 16 deputy dates. Along with Argentina, they are the only undefeated and still have a match to play against each other.

Brazil wants to return to the foreground in a World Cup and will try to get the best motivation to be the best in the South American confederation.

Peru vs Paraguay

Peru arrives at the last date of the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers in the repechage position, but in case of not being able to win their last match, that place would be in danger, since there are two other teams that will try to achieve it. They have 21 units, with six wins, three draws and eight losses, so they depend on themselves to get the half ticket.

Paraguay was able to win on the previous date, but unfortunately their efforts were in vain, and they will miss the World Cup for the third time in a row.

Venezuela vs Colombia

Venezuela will close the elimination process towards Qatar 2022 at home, and regardless of the result they get, they will finish as the last place in the classification since at the moment they have 10 points, after winning three, drawing 1, and losing 13, the most defeats. Given this, the “Vinotinto” will remain the only Conmebol team that has never participated in a World Cup.

The visitor in this meeting will be Colombia, who mathematically still has a chance in these Conmebol World Cup Qualifiers. They need a win and hope that Peru does not win his match, only in that way could they go to the repechage against the rival of Asia. Although the outlook does not seem easy, they come from getting an important victory against Bolivia and will try to take advantage of the mood despite not depending on himself.

Chile vs Uruguay

Chile will be local and will look for the feat. Although their elimination process was quite irregular, they still remain with chances of being able to go to the repechage. They have 19 points, after five wins, four draws and eight losses, so only one win would allow them to climb to fifth place, only that is conditioned on what Peru and Colombia do in their respective matches.

The opponent to beat will be Uruguay, who qualified directly on the previous date. They have the same record as Ecuador, seven wins, four draws and six losses, but on goal difference it is in negative, so they occupy the fourth place of Conmebol. A win here would only allow them to climb one spot in the standings if Ecuador lost their last match.
